DVDs with Joanne Plumb
Although Joanne Plumb is best known in Schutzhund circles, her mainly inductive methods of producing happy, animated, obedience dogs with "drive," are catching the notice of many who train only for AKC obedience competitions. This pair of DVDs show in detail Joanne's methods for producing and enthusiastic obedience dog, using primarily food and a "toy" as positive motivators. In the second DVD, she does introduce some leash corrections, but only as a way of building precision and reliability on exercises the dog has already learned through inductive techniques. Please note that these DVDs are NOT strictly AKC-style obedience, and do show some Schutzhund Obedience exercises which are not used by AKC. However if you are seeking ways to increase your dog's motivation exercises, you will find much useful information in these DVDs.
