Do-It-Yourself Agility Construction
Contructing Agility Equipment for Training or Competition
Book by Jim Hutchins ©2002 2nd edition
Whether you are building obstacles for backyard training, for agility classes, or for AKC, NADAC, or USDAA trials, Do-It-Yourself Agility Equipment is the ultimate equipment reference for the agility enthusiast. In this book, you will find 27 detailed construction plans for making everything from a welded aluminum A-frame to contact training hoops. Each plan includes a list of materials and tools needed as well as numerous illustrations to help simplify the construction of each obstacle. In addition to equipment plans, this book contains suggestions on when and why it may be better to buy something than to build it and provides the first printed Resource Guide of agility equipment and material vendors. You will also find current equipment specifications for the major agility organizations as well as tips on how to build obstacles so that they meet the criteria for more than one organization. Jim Hutchins has been experimenting with different methods for building agility obstacles since he got started in agility in 1994. In 1997, he started marketing his equipment plans under the name of HOGA Agility. Over the past two years, Jim and the editors at Clean Run Productions have been working together to further refine each HOGA plan. The result are the complete, easy-to-follow construction plans contained in this book. 160 pages, 10 1⁄4" x 8", softcover.
