We designed and built a flyball box that would be affordable for any individual, club, or training group that wanted to ""try" both training and competing in the sport of flyball. Our Practishot box is slightly larger than most other "starter" boxes on the market, making it easier for beginner teams to use this one box for both training and lower division flyball competitions. Our design also incorporates a slightly steeper angle on the front launch peddle, making a later transition to a larger, more upright, "competition" box easier for your dog. The launch peddle is covered with extra-thick, sponge-vinyl matting, to increase traction, while helping to cushion the impact on your dog's feet and shoulders. Our final innovation is a plastic knob on the outside back of the box, which allows you to quickly adjust the spring tension on the launch arm, changing the distance and speed the ball will be thrown. (Most other boxes on the market require you to open the box and make some sort of adjustment to the internal launch mechanism!) Made from a special, warp-resistant particle board, we offer this box either painted royal blue, or unpainted. If you order unpainted, you should protect the wood by either painting the box or using some sort of protective coating such as polyurethane. Our painted box has sand added to the paint on the bottom of the box and on the area where the loader stands, to help prevent sliding of the box when hit by large dogs.
